Young Thug is facing more legal trouble just months after being released from prison. The Fulton County District Attorney’s Office filed a motion on April 2, 2025, asking for his probation to be revoked. This comes after the rapper had accepted a plea deal in October 2024, which resulted in a 40-year sentence with five years to be served in prison and 15 years of probation. If he successfully completes the probation, 20 more years will be reduced from his sentence.
In their new motion, prosecutors argue that Young Thug’s presence in the community while on probation is a threat to public safety and disrupts the rule of law. They point to some of his social media posts, which they believe show a disregard for legal procedures and could put others in danger.
One post allegedly targeted Marissa Viverito, a Fulton County investigator, where Young Thug called her “the biggest liar in the DA office.” He also reportedly shared another tweet from a fan account that included several images of Viverito, with the caption “All my homies hate Viverito.”
The prosecutors claim that these posts led to Viverito’s and her family’s addresses being shared online. One of the posts even allegedly suggested that people should “pull up on her mama crib” if the hate was real. Additionally, there was a post that allegedly made a threat against District Attorney Fani Willis.
In response, Young Thug took to social media to defend himself. He wrote, “I don’t make treats to people I’m a good person. I would never condone anyone threatening anyone or definitely participate in threatening anyone. I’m all about peace and love.”
This situation is serious for the rapper, as it could affect his freedom and future, especially considering the legal consequences of violating his probation. It also raises concerns about the impact of social media behavior on legal matters.
